Centuries old martial art has received mainstream attention of Nigerian people. Dambe's history stems from the Hausa people in northern Nigeria and is thought to date back centuries. It was local butchers by trade who competed. The stronger punching hand known as the spear is traditionally tied with cotton and rope, while the other hand shields against opponent's punches.
Kuku Bima Ener-G! is proud to take part in this astounding traditional sport by organizing a Dambe competition in Mararaba, Nasarawa State. The event was a collaboration with Nagarta Dambe & Drama Entertainment and covered by Banbarewa YouTube, Farenwata TV (Dambe sport TV) and AIT international TV. Thousands of people came to watch some talented fighters overcome challenges to prove themselves as the champion.
